Joshua/Jesus
For this chapter I will start going into what I have found concerning Joshua. Jesus is actually Yeshua and Yeshua translated into english is Joshua. And I suppose it was a good thing that I did know this knowledge while I was first studying into the Bible or I suppose I may have overlooked these verses at first.
It started for me in the book of Zechariah. And here are the verses that I found that pertained to Jesus.
(Zechariah 3:1)And he shewed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the Lord, and Satan standing at his right hand to resist him. 2 And the Lord said unto Satan, The Lord rebuke thee, O Satan; even the Lord that hath chosen Jerusalem rebuke thee: is not this a brand plucked out of the fire? 3 Now Joshua was clothed with filthy garments, and stood before the angel. 4 And he answered and spake unto those that stood before him, saying, Take away the filthy garments from him. And unto him he said, Behold, I have caused thine iniquity to pass from thee, and I will clothe thee with change of raiment. 5 And I said, Let them set a fair mitre upon his head. So they set a fair mitre upon his head, and clothed him with garments. And the angel of the Lord stood by. 6 And the angel of the Lord protested unto Joshua, saying, 7 Thus saith the Lord of hosts; If thou wilt walk in my ways, and if thou wilt keep my charge, then thou shalt also judge my house, and shalt also keep my courts, and I will give thee places to walk among these that stand by. 8 Hear now, O Joshua the high priest, thou, and thy fellows that sit before thee: for they are men wondered at: for, behold, I will bring forth my servant the BRANCH. 9 For behold the stone that I have laid before Joshua; upon one stone shall be seven eyes: behold, I will engrave the graving thereof, saith the Lord of hosts, and I will remove the iniquity of that land in one day.
So with the above verse as you can see we have Joshua, a.k.a. Jesus, and he has basically just been plucked out of hell Is my understanding of it. If you see how they rebuke Satan for they say is not this a brand that is plucked out of the fire? He then tells him that he is going to give him clean clothes to wear and then they set a mitre on his head. Which this could mean that they are setting a price on his head, or that they are putting a turban on his head. Which would be something to indicate that he was a priest of some sort. I have seen versions in other Bibles saying turban and so I really am not sure on what exactly they are meaning with this part.
But we move on and see how the Lord of Hosts is now telling Joshua that if he will walk in his ways and keep his courts that he will then be able to judge his house, and that he will give him places to walk amongst the men who are wondered at. He then goes on to tell everyone that he is bringing forth his servant the branch.
Most of us know that Jesus has always been referred to as the branch. As well as many other names. But here he is being presented as the branch after being plucked from the fire. This does not sound exactly like what most people talk about with Jesus being God incarnate, or God. Now this possibly could be a son of God. The angels are always referred to as the sons of God. While humans are referred to as the son of man.
So lets play this out for a second here. What if Jesus were an angel? So that would make him a son of God right? Now let us say that he sent his angel here to earth and what if he changed sides while he was here on earth? For if you will look at how it states in (Luke 4:1-2) And Jesus being full of the Holy Spirit returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, 2 Being forty days tempted of the devil. And in those days he did eat nothing: and when they were ended, he afterward hungered. Now after all of the temptation is ended the Devil departs from Jesus for a season it says. Now I don\’t understand why it doesn\’t say something like the Devil went on about his way and went after some other poor soul! But it does not say that. It states that the Devil departed from him for a season. And then it states in (Luke 4:14) And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about. 15 And he taught in their synagogues, being glorified of all.
I have to say that is a little strange how Jesus comes out of the wilderness after being tempted by the Devil, and then all of a sudden there is a fame that goes all around about him. And he is being glorified by all. Sorry but this just sounds like someone who possibly just changed sides.
And this is also portrayed in the book of Revelation when Jesus is addressing the 7 churches. In the first church of Ephesus they say (Revelation 2:4) Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love. 5 Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.
So the above verse is giving a scenario like I was just speaking of. Possibly changing sides, changing teams, or however you want to put it out there. Because he is stating \”Remember therefore from thence thou art fallen, and repent\”. So when they are talking about fallen angels in the Bible they are normally talking about the Devil. The fallen angel of Satan. However one would like to word it. But that is normally what they are talking about with the fallen angels.
So here is another verse to think about. For I am going back into the book of Isaiah. Look at (Isaiah 14: 12) How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! 13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: 14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High. 15 Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.
So we have in Isaiah them saying \”O Lucifer son of the morning\”. This once again indicates that this Lucifer is a son of the morning star right? And we have Jesus as I have pointed out stating that he is the root and offspring of David, and the bright morning star in (Revelation 22:16).
Now I am not stating for sure either way here when I am talking about which team Jesus is actually on. For I am still trying to figure all of this out myself. But we have many, many, Bible verses that will show that there is something just not quite right concerning Jesus being our Messiah, or our Saviour.
Now here are a few more verses that lead me to the realization that perhaps Jesus was not exactly who we really thought that he was. And it lead me also on my journey of discovering that the Lord of Hosts is actually a separate deity than the actual God of the Bible.
(2 Corinthians 12:7) And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure. 8 For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. 9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
So Paul is talking about having a thorn in his side. A messenger of Satan. Now I believe that it is pretty clear here that Paul is actually talking about Jesus here as that messenger of Satan. And if you will look in (Malachi 3:1) Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the Lord of hosts.
This is the Lord of Hosts who is talking in the above verse. And as you can tell he is talking about sending a messenger to prepare the way for him. Then he states how the Lord whom ye seek shall suddenly come to his temple. And then he states how even the messenger of the covenant will be there. The one whom you delight in. This sounds to me like he is being a complete smartass as he says that last sentence. But I could be wrong. Perhaps he is being genuine.
So I suppose this is as good a time as any to end this chapter. And I will be picking up with my ideas about the Lord of Hosts in one of the next few chapters, so make sure you keep reading to find out all of the other things I have found in the Bible that most certainly pertains to our lives, in our generation. and seems to be getting ready to break loose in the very near future!
