O Lucifer Son of the Morning

I would like to talk about who exactly this Lucifer of the book of Isaiah actually was. I think that it is safe to say that most people when they hear the name of Lucifer, they think of the Devil. And this belief has been really impounded into peoples heads with hit series such as \”Lucifer\’. In this very popular series they display a tall dark handsome man as the infamous Lucifer Morningstar, aka \”The Devil\”. Who is here on the earth taking a sort of vacation from his devilish duties in Hell.

And I am not here to completely change how anyone is wanting to believe in certain things. But I am here to point out things that I have found in the Bible since I started studying it over 2 years ago. And hopefully by showing some of the things that I have found, then some of you may decide to open up your own Bibles at home and form your own opinions on some of these subjects. Because I am only saying that if you are going to follow something and be a part of it, then you really should know exactly what you are following and choosing to be a part of.

Anyways I would like to point out a couple of Bible verses that pertain to this Lucifer of the Bible.

Isaiah 14:12 \”How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! 13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:”

Now check out a verse from the book of Revelation in which Jesus is addressing the 7 churches.

\”Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love. 5 Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works.\” Revelation 2:4

If you have not made the connection between the 2 verses I will help you out with it at this time. If you notice how they say \”how art thou fallen o Lucifer, son of the morning\” in the first verse I shared. Now look to the 2nd one and see how they are talking about how the church of Ephesus has left its first love. And then goes on to say, \”remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent.

Now let\’s stop and look at how the verse in Isaiah states \”O Lucifer, son of the morning\”. And now we will look at another couple verses in the Bible that are talking about the Morning Star and how they connect with these that I have shared with you.

Revelation 22:16 I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.

With the above verse it seems to be saying that Jesus is the child of the Morning Star. I know many people and Bibles have tried explaining this away and just downright changing what it says in their Bibles. But I believe that it is what it is. And it makes perfect sense actually. I mean this is the Revelation of Jesus Christ. And what is a Revelation?

The definition of a revelation is:

  • A surprising and previously unknown fact, especially one that is made known in a dramatic way.
  • the divine or supernatural disclosure to humans of something relating to human existence or the world.

When you think of the definition of what a revelation actually is, then it really does make sense. It is a surprising and previously unknown fact. I have to say that if the whole world would really read the book of Revelation for what it really is then they would definitely be surprised to find out this fact!

Now here is another verse that pertains to the morning star, Jesus, and someone\’s father.

Revelation 2:27 And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father. 28 And I will give him the morning star.

Now considering all of the talk of ruling with a rod of iron, and how they shall be broken to shivers, I have to say that it does not sound like something good that is coming. And as he talks about receiving this from his father, it puts a connection in place with why he is testifying that he is the root and offspring of the bright morning star. For right after stating that he received this from his father, he goes right on into stating that he will give them the morning star.

So if you look at all of this together, you will have the facts that Jesus is stating as,

  • He is the root and offspring of the morning star.
  • He is going to let whoever is with him rule the people with a rod of iron, and will smash them to pieces basically.
  • And he will give them the morning star.
  • They then state how Lucifer has fallen from heaven, and they call him son of the morning.
  • When they are addressing the church of Ephesus in the book of Revelation, they talk about how he has left his first love. And it then goes on to remind how far they have fallen. The wording being remarkably similar to the verse in Isaiah speaking of Lucifer.

I hope maybe this has shed a little bit of light into the mysterious topic of Lucifer. And maybe it will inspire some of you out there to get your own Bible out, and start seeking the truth of what you are really following.
