Help Save The Environment

I decided I needed to put a post out here talking about the situation with plastic on our planet. And especially the situation with plastic in our oceans!

I have been posting about end of time events for a while now. And I have brought up in some of my posts, how we have a piece of plastic that is 2x the size of Texas floating in our Pacific Ocean! I believe that this type of negligence on our behalf is directly related to end of times biblical prophecy from the book of Revelation.

I would say that it is about time that we start taking notice of this and trying to reverse the effects if at all possible.

Ways We Can Start Making A Difference

  • Stop purchasing these huge pieces of plastic with laundry detergent in them.

I believe that the statistics are that around 90% of these enormous laundry detergent containers do not get recycled. And there are around 50 million laundry detergent bottles thrown away every year! And that is from the United States alone! That is crazy!

An average sized laundry detergent bottle.

And this picture above is not even the biggest size that they sell! Imagine 50 million of the even bigger ones that they sell!

And right here is our solution to all of this plastic in the world. Environmentally friendly laundry sheets.

I have started using these laundry sheets and they really are awesome!

4 ways that these laundry detergent sheets are better than regular laundry detergent that comes in plastic or even powder form.

  • They are much smaller and take up much less space
  • They are not nearly as messy as using regular laundry detergent
  • They are not priced way higher than regular laundry detergent
  • And they will really make a difference in our world concerning the plastic problem that is literally killing our planet

They will only make a huge difference if everybody starts using them. And stops with the buying and wasting of plastic containers all over the world!

Another Way that we can help to save our planet

  • Stop using clothes dryers

I stopped using my clothes dryer about a year ago. I had some problems with my electric not putting out enough amps I guess in order to make the dryer run hot. It was pulling enough to make it run. But not enough to make it run hot.

Instead of having everything fixed and starting up my drying of clothes in it again, I decided to just stop using it. I admit it was sort of out of the blue type of decision for me. I started thinking about how bad dryers actually are for our planet, and I made the decision that day to just cut it out of my life.

Granted there are some drawbacks to not having. a clothes dryer for your laundry.

The Negatives Of Not Having A Clothes Dryer

  1. You have to physically go hang your laundry
  2. Your laundry does not get dry near as fast
  3. Your clothes may end up a little more wrinkly

The Positives Of Not Using A Clothes Dryer

  1. When you hang them outside you get that fresh clean smell only fresh air can give your clothes
  2. You save yourself a lot of extra money when it comes to your electric bill
  3. You save yourself a lot of money by not having to purchase a dryer
  4. Your are improving your health by spending more time in the great outdoors
  5. You are improving your mental health also with spending more time outdoors
  6. You are helping to save our planet with every little thing that you do to reduce pollution, and to help reduce the amounts of carbon dioxide that goes out into our atmosphere.

If you are not into the whole drying your clothes outside, then you can always get yourself a clothes drying rack. These are really handy especially when it is wintertime out. I always use my clothes drying rack when it is cold outside. You can purchase all different types of them. I have one that folds up out of the way and I love it.

I really hope that some of you out there will decide to start using these laundry sheets and maybe even decide to get rid of your dryer and start helping our planet out little steps at a time. If each of us does at least a little something to try and help reduce pollution, then it will definitely make a big difference for our planets well being.

What pollution is doing to our planet

Start Washing Our Dishes

Doing our own dishes is another way that we could make a huge difference in the amount of plastic that gets thrown away every single year. There are 100 million plastic utensils that make their way to the garbage dump every single day here in America alone! It is also estimated that around 40 billion are thrown away every year. This is in America alone people! I imagine we are one of the main nations that waste plastic every year, yet I am sure that places like China are right there with us. Considering how many people they have there.

Recycling is not widely available for polystyrene products. Because most curbside collection services will not accept polystyrene, this material accounts for about 35% of US landfill contributing to the growing waste pollution.

In addition to its impact on landfills, plastic manufacturing utilizes a large amount of power and petroleum which, through its extraction process, releases gases and chemical byproducts harmful to people and our environment.

What Is Our Solution?

Bamboo!

Unlike plastic, bamboo does not derive from petroleum and doesn’t require a large amount of power and nonrenewable resources for its production. Though it may dry out if put in extreme heat (like a microwave), it does not emit toxic carcinogens and is safer for your body.

Buy Fruits And Vegetables At Local Produce Stands

When you purchase your fruits and vegetables from local stands you will not only get better foods for yourself and your family, but you will also reduce the amount of plastic that is being consumed on our planet.

Reduce pollution by shopping locally

Choose Milk In Returnable Glass Bottles

Many areas have local dairies that provide milk in returnable glass bottles rather than plastic or plastic-coated cardboard (yes, all cardboard milk containers are coated inside and out with plastic, not wax.) Unfortunately, the milk bottle does contain an unrecyclable plastic cap. But I would rather buy milk in a glass bottle capped with plastic than milk contained in plastic on all sides.

Reuse Your Plastic Bags

I admit that I have been guilty of not realizing how bad the plastic situation on this earth really was. I have been letting the places that I shop put all of my items in plastic bags and not even thinking about how bad it is for the planet. But, I do have to say that I have been reusing my bags for many years. I hardly ever throw away my plastic bags. I will save every one of them and put them inside of a holder that keeps them where they are convenient and easy to access.

I use something exactly like the picture above at my home for plastic bags. I will use them to line all of my small trash cans throughout my home. And I will try to use them over and over. Unless something really gross gets in the bottom of the bag, I will take each small can of trash and dump them into my large trash bag. And leave the bag in my trash can to be used again.

Another thing I use my plastic bags for is for anyone coming to my home and may have need for something to carry leftovers in. They come in very handy for friends or family members who may have come over for dinner and would like to take something home with them.
