If you have anything to do with religion then I am sure that you have questioned as to who the two witnesses are. I think that I have figured out who they really are according to the Bible.
Now I am not saying that I know all the answers to the questions that might surround the witnesses, but I believe that I know who they are.

Let’s go to the Bible verses that will start the path to understanding towards who the witnesses are and what they will be doing.
Revelation 11:3-4 And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth. These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth.
Zechariah 4:3 And two olive trees by it, one upon the right side of the bowl, and the other upon the left side thereof. 4:6 Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.
Zechariah 4:10-14 For who hath despised the day of small things? for they shall rejoice, and shall see the plummet in the hand of Zerubbabel with those seven; they are the eyes of the LORD, which run to and fro through the whole earth. Then answered I, and said unto him, What are these two olive trees upon the right side of the candlestick and upon the left side thereof. And I answered again, and said unto him, What be these two olive branches which through the two golden pipes empty the golden oil out of themselves? And he answered me and said, Knowest thou not what these be? And I said, No, my lord. Then said he, These are the two anointed ones, that stand by the Lord of the whole earth.
Haggai 1:12 Then Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, with all the remnant of the people, obeyed the voice of the LORD their God, and the words of Haggai the prophet, as the LORD their God had sent him, and the people did fear before the LORD. 13 Then spake Haggai the LORD’S messenger in the LORD’S message unto the people, saying, I am with you, saith the LORD. 14 And the LORD stirred up the spirit of Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and the spirit of Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, and the spirit of all the remnant of the people; and they came and did work in the house of the LORD of hosts, their God.
Zechariah 6:11 Then take silver and gold, and make crowns, and set them upon the head of Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest. 13 Even he shall build the temple of the LORD; and he shall bear the glory, and shall sit and rule upon his throne; and he shall be a priest upon his throne: and the counsel of peace shall be between them both. 3:8 Hear now, O Joshua the high priest, thou, and thy fellows that sit before thee: for they are men wondered at: for, behold, I will bring forth my servant the BRANCH.
Zechariah 6:12 And speak unto him, saying, Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, Behold the man whose name is The BRANCH; and he shall grow up out of his place, and he shall build the temple of the LORD.
As you may have noticed they refer to the branch a few times. And who is the branch? Well Joshua is who seems to be the branch in these verses. And I know that Joshua is what Jesus’s actual name would have been in the original Hebrew bible. Jesus is just a translation from Joshua. Considering that Jesus is also referred to as the branch in Christianity.
Now the way I am seeing it is this. Jesus is not really wanting to go through with this dying thing once it’s getting really close to the time. He shows us this in when he keeps on going back and praying to the father to let this pass over him. Now once he dies we now go to Psalms 118 where they show us that he cries out in distress.
So we have a lord who answered him. He pulls him from hell and sets him in a large land. And he goes onto to talk about how he will go into the congregation of the righteous and preach the lord’s name.
