By Christa Bruns
We are the sheep who are led to slaughter,

Even when told, we are not bothered.
Walking in order,
Following what we know.
Hearing what we want to hear,
From the seed that another has sowed.
Seeing only what we want to see,
Never once realizing, we’re not where we should be.
Are we really this dull of hearing?
That we do not even question,
When our appetites are so easily fed?
Feeding on promises, living by faith,
Never once questioning, how wide was our gate.
Come unto me, he so easily said.
My burden is light,
And your so easily mislead.
When the time came to gather,
Not one let out a peep.
As he tossed billions of souls, down to the deep.
Assuring them all, they would merely just sleep.
